The Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability is a grant for people with a physical, sensory, mental health or intellectual disability. It provides funding so you can improve how you enter and move around your home.

GRANTS AVAILABLE

1. Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability​

• Eligible Works: Installing ramps, grab rails, stair lifts, accessible showers, wheelchair access, and necessary extensions.

• Eligibility: Applicable for privately owned homes, rented accommodations, and homes provided by Approved Housing Bodies.

• Funding: The grant covers up to €30,000 or 95% of the cost for homes older than 12 months. The amount is based on a sliding scale depending on household income, with eligibility for incomes up to €60,000.

2. Mobility Aids Housing Grant

• Purpose: For minor accessibility modifications like grab rails, access ramps, or stair lifts.

• Funding: Up to €6,000, covering 100% of costs for households with incomes up to €30,000.

3. Housing Aid for Older People

• Purpose: For essential home improvements such as structural repairs, rewiring, window replacement, or heating improvements for people over 66 years of age.

• Funding: Maximum of €8,000 or 95% of costs, based on a sliding scale for incomes up to €60,000.
